Date & Restaurant: November 22nd at Tumbleweeds Diner in Magdalena, NM.
Meet Up & Time: KSU 8:15 am at the Smith’s fuel station on Tramway and Central.
Mileage oneway: Approximately 150 miles (2.5 hrs) of pavement riding from our meet up in Albuquerque.
Route: Due to the current road conditions from the severe rain in late September, some roads have been damaged. We’ll keep an eye on possible routes. Please note this route and/or restaurant location may need to change based on road conditions.
Route specifics TBD. It is very likely that we will take the long-way-around and go through Tijeras and Mountainair, then over to I-25 to Socorro and beyond to Magdalena.
Level: Novice. There will be speeds that exceed 75 mph.
Fuel: Please fuel up before we leave. Route is approximately 150 miles. The closest fuel after lunch is in Magdalena or Socorro.
Return to Albuquerque: Riders have the option of going their own way back home. We may retrace our steps, or take another route home. This is often discussed over lunch and small groups form for those that want different routes.
Note: The route is all-paved novice level ride. The restaurant has a gravel parking lot. It’s going to be chilly, so wear layers (and have a way to stow them as well).
Weather: This ride is based largely on weather. If the weather is not in our favor, the Destination Lunch Ride will be cancelled.
