FAQ’s
-
The Custom Coaching & Rides allows you to build something we don’t already offer. It’s a chance for you to have something that is best suited for your wants and needs.
We will have an initial call to discuss your customization and then connect frequently during the planning process to ensure we are building the experience you are looking for.
-
No. Being brand new to motorcycling is what CLEAR Moto is here for. We’re happy to help you get started. Your experience will be built around what you need and want.
-
You must have a valid motorcycle endorsement.
Unfortunately CLEAR Moto is not in a position to award motorcycle licensing or endorsements. You must go through New Mexico’s MSF program or test directly with the DMV. If you are in a different state look up “MSF” for licensing class schedules.
-
CLEAR Moto does have a rental motorcycle available for training purposes only. If you want to learn to ride before investing in your own motorcycle, we’re here for you.
-
The first step is to reach out to us. Tell us about your idea, where you want to have your training and/or rides, the number of riders, and each rider’s skill level.
From there, you’ll be in touch with our lead coach, Cassie Maier. She will set up an initial call or video call to discuss in greater detail what you are looking for.
You’ll then receive frequent communication about how the planning is coming along and any other details you may need or want leading up to your custom experience.
-
If travelling outside Albuquerque, NM is required for your customization, you are responsible for our travel, lodging, and food costs. This will be built into your quote after our initial call.
If you prefer that we take care of all lodging bookings, meal arrangements, and any other reservations, we can do that for a fee.
-
Our training focuses on building a strong foundation which includes your vision and balance, along with clutch, throttle, and braking control.
Please let us know what you would like to focus on (if anything). We’ll do our best to include it into the training (please note that there are some skills that we will not teach based on a lack of practicality or safety).
The skills you’ll learn, and practice have a building block effect. Because we are building you a foundation, we believe it to be a disservice to rush ahead and learn the “fun” stuff without allowing you to have a solid grasp of your vision, balance, clutch, throttle, and braking control.
-
The rides are very customizable. We can create routes for street and/or off-road riding, for any skill level, and desired mileage per day. Depending on the area, and your requests, please understand that not all requests can be met. This will be discussed in greater detail during your initial call.
We are happy to share the routes with you to your phone or GPS. We will discuss each ride day with you the night before or the morning of. Weather can largely affect the routes chosen, so workarounds and plan changes may occur.
There may be some coaching during the ride. If you chose to have coaching included in your custom experience, the level of coaching will be greater during the ride than if you only choose to have a ride for your custom experience.
-
Even though this is a custom option, our coaching is setup in such a way that we’ll stick to our structure. The curriculum is not customizable, although, if you have a special something that you want to focus on, we can work that in (so long as the request is not outside the scope of our core values).
Our training is designed like building blocks. Each exercise relates and builds upon one another throughout the course. We focus on balance, vision, clutch, throttle, and braking control.
-
There is a three-day minimum for a Custom Coaching & Rides experience.
We find the sweet spot for most riders is within three to five days of training and or riding. Let us know what you are thinking and we’ll discuss your options regarding the number of days you are wanting for your experience.
-
Knowing what level of rider you are can be tricky. We’ll discuss your riding experience during our initial call and go from there. The coaching and rides will then be built for your riding level.
-
No less than a 50% deposit is due at time of booking. Once a deposit or full payment is received, we will begin building and planning your Custom Coaching & Rides.
-
If you prefer to reschedule, we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs within our availability.
To avoid receiving a penalty, we ask that you observe the same timeframe from the cancellation policy. If rescheduling happens with less than one week notice, there will be a fee charged to reschedule on short notice.
-
You can cancel for a full refund if done so with no less than two weeks notice.
Receive a 50% refund (if paid in full) if you cancel with less than two weeks notice. If only 50% was paid at time of booking, receive no refund.
If training is cancelled with less than a week’s notice, receive a credit of your total payments good toward future training. The credit is based on its monetary value and not for the training it was booked for (prices subject to increase).
Rebooking is allowed twice. Upon the third rebooking a fee will be applied.
“No shows/no calls” will not receive a refund or credit.
For more details about cancellations please see the CLEAR Moto Policy page.
-
All riders must wear a properly fitted DOT approved motorcycle helmet and eye protection while operating a motorcycle during training.
We recommend riders wear long sleeves, long pants, sturdy over-the-ankle boots, and full-finger gloves.
The amount of protection you choose to wear is up to you. For a list of gear options CLEAR Moto recommends please see it here.
-
Training will take place in most weather conditions. If the conditions make operating the motorcycle unsafe, training will be cancelled or rescheduled. For a more in-depth list of weather conditions that would cancel training please see the CLEAR Moto Policy page.
-
CLEAR Moto believes that motorcycling is for everyone, and that means we want to respect all people. It is a simple gesture to call a person by their chosen name and their appropriate pronoun.
If you don’t want to state your pronoun, you do not have to. We respect that just as much.

Yes. If you feel that your coach did a wonderful job, it is greatly appreciated by them to receive a tip.
