Date & Restaurant: March 21st at Buckhorn Tavern in San Antonio, NM

Mileage oneway: Approximately 145 miles oneway. 67 miles of pavement (interstate) and 77 miles of dirt.
Meet Up & Time: Maverick fuel station off I-25 at Rio Bravo. KSU 8:00 am
Route: From the Maverick station, we’ll head south on I-25. Taking exit 195 to Belen business loop. We’ll make our way over to NM-47 S toward US-60. We’ll take a left onto US-60 to our trail head at La Mesa Redonda. We’ll take dirt south all the way to US-380. We’ll take a right on US-380 and head into San Antonio for lunch at Buckhorn Tavern.
Level: Intermediate! I can’t stress this enough. Please no novice riders for this route.
Fuel: Please top off BEFORE we leave. Route is approximately 144 miles oneway. Fuel is available in Socorro after lunch.
Return to Albuquerque: Riders have the option of going their own way back home. There will be an option to ride through the Manzano’s heading back to Albuquerque. This will add another 124 miles.
Note: This route will include interstate speeds (75 mph +), embedded and loose rock, gravel roads, sand, and loose hill climbs and ascents. This is an intermediate level ride.
Weather: This ride is based largely on weather. If for any reason we deem the ride unsafe (flood warnings for example) we will reschedule for another date.
