Date & Restaurant: December 20th at Legal Tender Saloon in Lamy, NM.
Meet Up & Time: KSU 10:15 am at the Smith’s fuel station on Tramway and Central.
Mileage oneway: Approximately 60 miles (1.5 hrs) of pavement riding from our meet up in Albuquerque.
Route: The group will take old route 66 out of Albuquerque, heading toward Tijeras. From there we’ll grab NM 14 North toward Madrid. At Camino Las Abuelos we’ll take a right toward Galisteo. When we meet NM 41 the group will take a left and eventually meet up with US 285. We’ll take a quick ride on US 285 and take a right onto Old Lamy Trail to end at Legal Tender Saloon.
Please note the parking lot is large gravel. Park so you can leave with the greatest ease. There is an easier parking lot across the street at the Lamy Train Station.
Level: Novice. There will be speeds that exceed 60 mph.
Fuel: Please fuel up before we leave. Route is approximately 60 miles. The closest fuel after lunch is further north on US 285 near I-25.
Return to Albuquerque: Riders have the option of going their own way back home. We may retrace our steps, or take another route home. This is often discussed over lunch and small groups form for those that want different routes.
Note: The route is all-paved novice level ride. The restaurant has a gravel parking lot. It’s going to be chilly, so wear layers (and have a way to stow them as well).
Weather: This ride is based largely on weather. If the weather is not in our favor, the Destination Lunch Ride will be cancelled.
