3rd Annual Alaska Special ADV Training and Trail Training

  • Spend two full days learning and practicing ADV skills in the Valley. Skills covered will include:

    • Vision

    • Balance

    • Clutch Control

    • Throttle Control

    • Braking Control

    • Body Positioning

    • Turns

    • Hills

    Add an optional day of Trail Training on Monday (following weekend courses only). Coaching will continue on the trail. Discussing how to tackle elements such as:

    • Trail Communication

    • Trail Etiquette

    • Troubleshooting

    • Terrain Considerations

    CLEAR Moto wants to help you build your motorcycle confidence, proficiency, and control.

  • Novice and Intermediate levels

    Novice is perfect for building a strong and sturdy foundation of skills specific for Adventure Riding. Great for any rider that is new or new to adventure riding.

    Intermediate is for riders that have the foundational skills and are looking for more intensity and fine tuning their training.

    Trail Training is an optional third day for Monday’s only (following weekend courses). Training continues on the trail, allowing you to bring it all together. The Trail Ride must be coupled with a weekend two-day training.

  • Please understand that this an Adventure Rider training course. Focused on the mid to heavy weight adventure models. Smaller bikes are welcome. This is not a dirt bike course.

    Two days of training (up to 6 hours each day). Training will take place on private property, where we’ll have access to a grass field, gravel road, and aspen grove (depending on weather and conditions).

    Trail Training will by up to six hours of training on the trails. Expect to do a lot of stop and go as we pause to go through a lesson.

    Your coach, Cassie Maier, has been professionally coaching for six years. She brings a wealth of knowledge and personal experience to her program. It is important that you have fun while you learn. She’ll never push you, yet Cassie will challenge and encourage you to safely make an attempt.

Training starts at $849

Novice and Intermediate level ADV Training builds skill and confidence handling your adventure motorcycle off-road. This course is designed with adventure specific models in mind and is not a dirt bike course. Any make/model adventure or dual sport motorcycle is welcome.

The curriculum emphasis the importance of building a strong foundation of skill using the CLEAR Moto Five Fundamental Skills; vision, balance, clutch, throttle, and braking control. Both novice and intermediate levels will have this same emphasis and matched with appropriately challenging exercises.

Trail Training was a new and popular addition in 2024 so we’re going to keep it going for 2025. Trail Training will be held on the Monday following the weekend courses only. Trail Training is only offered as an add-on option when sign up and complete the two-day ADV Training course.

    Appropriate for riders that have already taken our Novice level training or have previous off-road experience. This course is more intense and challenging.

    Operating a motorcycle requires delicate and intentional input to its controls for the best results. With the guidance from a professional coach, you’ll begin to take control of your motorcycle, making riding easier and more enjoyable.

What to Know

Training Location

CLEAR Moto is thrilled to be able moving our ADV Training to a private property in the Valley.

Training Time

Class will be from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm AKST. Your appointment confirmation may look odd during registration, that is because CLEAR Moto operates in MST.

Lunch

We’ll be taking a one hour lunch. Please bring a sack lunch or feel free to leave and come back (we ask that come back on time).

Optional Trail Training

This was a wildly popular addition last year so we’ll keep it going. This option is only available with the weekend courses, Trail Training falling on Monday. Coaching will continue on the trail. Expect a fair deal of stop-and-go as we pause to discuss lessons. Weather can and will change the traction environment, so come prepared.

The Trail Training area will be at Jim Creek OHV. Please bring a sack lunch. There are no places close to grab lunch.
